Four times the pixels of a 640, uncooled and lightweight.
The Boson SX8 is a 1280×1024 uncooled LWIR module with four times the pixels of a 640×512 core, for longer detection, recognition, and identification range in a 22.5 g package. It sees four times the area at the same detail, or the same area in far more detail. Looking for the cooled MWIR core of the same name? That's the Neutrino SX8.
UNIT · BOSON-SX8Boson SX8 brings SXGA clarity to the uncooled Boson line: 4× more pixels than a VGA module extends DRI range and keeps imagery clear at long distances, while the 8 µm pitch keeps the package SWaP-optimized. It runs 60 Hz (30 Hz via averager or frame-skip) with a roadmap to higher frame rates.
Purpose-built for industrial, commercial, and defense integrations, it ships with multiple lens options including germanium-free configurations and a compact, factory-integrated continuous-zoom variant, and it's compatible with Teledyne FLIR's Prism™ intelligent digital products for AI-ready integrations. Manufactured at scale in the USA.
Naming collision, by design: "SX8" is FLIR's convention for any SXGA/8 µm core. This is the uncooled LWIR one. The cooled MWIR Neutrino SX8 is an unrelated product.
